Working with tubes started rather coincidentally. A belgian advertising agency asked different artists to create something for an international art magazine with the theme ‘red stripe’. The goal was to promote the meanwhile famous jamaican beer called Red Stripe. I had the idea of working with a red cord and the tubes which I draped around the neck of a model. After my idea got selected to be in the art magazine, I decided to make a wearable piece of jewellery. This was the beginning of my tube collection.
